Celebrate St. Jean-Baptiste Day at the Franco Center
The Franco Center, in partnership with the Franco-American Collection at USM-LA, invites you to a special St. Jean-Baptiste Day Celebration and La Rencontre on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Franco Center, 46 Cedar Street in Lewiston.
Join us for an evening of music, food, history, and community as we celebrate French-Canadian heritage and the traditions that have connected generations of Franco-Americans throughout Maine and New England.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with a cash bar and opportunities to socialize in both French and English. Dinner begins at 6 p.m., followed by live entertainment throughout the evening.
This year's celebration pays tribute to the rich history of St. Jean-Baptiste festivities in Lewiston, where large parades, community gatherings, and cultural celebrations once brought thousands together. Historical photographs and stories from past celebrations will help bring these cherished traditions to life.

Fiddler Steve Muise and singer Robert Sylvain blend traditional Acadian fiddle tunes and French-language folk songs with contemporary influences, creating an energetic and authentic celebration of Franco-American culture.
