Working the Workforce: The Lewiston Adult Promise (LeAP) Collaborative
Working the Workforce Seminar:
The Lewiston Adult Promise (LeAP) Collaborative: Wraparound support for adult learners in the new economy.
Presenter:
Jonathan Henry, VP Enrollment Management and Marketing, UMA and co-convener of the LeAP Collaborative
Who should attend:
Any person interested in supporting an adult seeking to earn a "credential of value" for the new economy, retrain for a new field, or complete a college degree that has been left unfinished.
Description:
The Lewiston Adult Promise (LeAP) has been funded by a pilot grant from MaineSpark's Adult Promise initiative. Over 15 organizations in the L/A region -- higher education, non-profits, agencies and advocates -- convene regularly to improve how we provide wraparound support and interventions to reduce barriers for adults to attain the credential they are seeking. The end goal is to have 60% of Maine adults with a credential of value by 2025, which translate to over 5,000 more in Androscoggin County in the next 7 years.
