Start-Up Saturday - Financing Your Business hosted by the LA Metro Chamber
Do you have a great business idea – but need someone else to fund it? With the right tools & preparation, you’ll set yourself up for success in locating the funding you need to launch. We’ll walk through important financing concepts, such as: Commercial Lending, Debt vs. Equity, Angel Investors, Bootstrapping, Building Your Sources & Uses, and Working Capital calculations. Most importantly, however, we’ll discuss how these considerations, when clearly presented in your business plan & financial projections, open the door to approach & communicate with potential investors. The number one reason small startups fail is due to under-funding; don’t let that be you!
Raynor Large is the Center Director for Maine SBDC at AVCOG. Prior to joining the SBDC in 2019, Raynor worked for a small local firm and used financial modeling to help small business owners through a wide variety of situations – transitions of ownership (both internal & external), entrepreneurial startups, bankruptcy (restructuring & liquidation), court-appointed receiverships, explosive growth opportunities, acquisitions, refinancing, turnaround, and more.
