Spotting Substance Use Disorder-and what to do about it
This seminar will discuss how to identify the signs and symptoms a staff member might exhibit if under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including marijuana, at the worksite. We will also discuss steps a business owner can take to minimize the risks their business and employees may face due to impairment.
Participants will learn the most common drugs misused, signs to look for in staff who may be impaired, how to prevent misuse, and strategies to address potential misuse.
Emily Dooling Hamilton, Substance Use and Tobacco Prevention Coordinator
Emily Dooling Hamilton has been at Healthy Androscoggin since fall of 2010 as a health promotion coordinator. She has her master's in health promotion and disease prevention and is a certified prevention specialist.
Mary Caron, Substance Use and Tobacco Prevention Coordinator
Mary Caron has been at Healthy Androscoggin working on tobacco and substance use prevention efforts for the past two years. She has her master's degree in public health from the University of Southern Maine and is looking forward to sharing this information with you
