Parents in the Workplace: A Discussion about Accommodations and Leave for Parents whose Children are Learning Remotely during COVID-19
Parents in the Workplace: A Discussion about Accommodations and Leave for Parents whose Children Are Learning Remotely during COVID-19
With summer winding down, parents and employers are grappling with how to handle the reality that many parents may want or need to work from home this fall due to COVID-19—possibly with little notice if schools close again. Employment lawyers from Skelton, Taintor, and Abbott will lead a discussion to answer your questions about how to navigate these issues. What laws apply to this situation? Are parents entitled to paid leave if they have kids learning at home? Are employers required to accommodate parents’ requests to work from home? What’s intermittent leave and do employers have to provide it? What can employers ask of parents, and what information should parents expect to have to give their employers? Bring your questions!
