Join us and Steve Jorgensen, President of St. Mary’s Health System and Senior Vice President, Covenant Health System as Steve will provide an overview of activities, including the impact of COVID and action taken to ensure a safe environment at the Medical Center with a focus on mental health needs and St Mary’s response to serve the Region
Steve Jorgensen, President St. Mary’s Health System and Senior Vice President, Covenant Health System
Steve Jorgensen is the President of St. Mary’s Health System in Lewiston, Maine, and a Senior Vice President for Covenant Health, the parent company. Before assuming this role in August 2018, Steve was the COO for Essentia Health East Region which provided integrated healthcare for Northern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin. Prior to joining Essentia, Steve was with the Mayo Clinic. During his 25-plus-year tenure at the Mayo Clinic, in both Rochester, MN and Jacksonville, FL., Steve took on various roles, advancing from human resources to a senior executive with administrative leadership for system-wide functions. He spent time leading clinic operations at Mayo’s Jacksonville Medical Center and was then recruited back to Rochester as the Chair of Education. Steve serves on the Board of Directors as well as the Public Policy Council for the Maine Hospital Association
Steve and his wife Martha, a retired elementary teacher, live in Auburn and spend as much free time as possible exploring Maine as well as New England to see the beautiful sights, learn of the history of the area and meet the great people of the region.
