My Life as a Peace Corps Volunteer
On Tuesday, November 20, you are invited to come hear current Peace Corps Volunteer, Selena Wallace, talk about her service in the Philippines. Since departing in June of 2017, Selena has been living and working with the local people and partner organizations on sustainable, community-based development projects that improve the lives of the people in her community of Tinambac. Tinambac is a municipality located in the Camarines Sur province of the Philippines. As part of the Third Goal of the Peace Corps, Selena will return home briefly to share her experience -- so far -- including information about the Peace Corps, how she got involved, what it's like to live and work in another culture, and the work she's done as a member of the Coastal Resource Management sector. Selena is one of 52 Maine residents currently serving in the Peace Corps, and more than 1,905 Maine residents have served in the Peace Corps since 1961. Join us for this informative program, designed for all ages!
