Registration: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Program: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Networking: 5:30 – 6:30 PM
This Course has been Approved for 3.00 Hours of Broker, Appraiser, Architect & Legal Continuing Education Credits.
An exciting, informative and solution based presentation for anyone living or working in Maine. Housing is reaching a critical junction here, and MEREDA is at the forefront of this topic finding ways to support good development. A major theme within our conference is understanding the various ages and demographics needing housing.
MEREDA is proud to have Resident Scholar and Codirector of AEI Center on Housing Markets and Finance at the American Enterprise Institute, Lynn Fisher, headlining this year’s conference. Lynn will deliver a data rich baseline of information, looking at national and state trends, by which the 4 hour presentation will launch.
Martin Ditto, CEO of Ditto Residential, a leading-edge urban design and development company in DC, largely involved in the emerging national trend of CO-housing, will present his successes and process for recognizing innovative housing solutions.
Bringing these inspiring topics home to roost are Matt O’Malia, principal architect and cofounder of GO Logic, a Maine-based design/build firm, former Maine House Speaker Hannah Pingree, Director of the Governor’s Office of Policy and Management, and Dan Brennan, Director of MaineHousing.
Matt is developing a European insulation product from paper, among other things. His product will create savings in both construction and heating, create jobs and take advantage of a natural product we have in abundance. Hannah, tasked with the start-up of the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, will be speaking to Policy and tell us how the state and federal government can help. Dan, Director of MaineHousing is a MEREDA member, board member and advocate for affordable housing.
The format will be largely interactive and conversational. There will be many opportunities for audience interface and questions.
