Join us from the comfort of your home to learn about the steps to resiliency that can support you in your role of leading in business and community. Essential and non-essential, healthy and at risk, we are experiencing the pandemic and effects of shutdown at the same time. Our presenter will be exploring the human response to critical incidents- like this pandemic, through the CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) lens. Attendees can expect to learn more about our individual and shared responses to critical incidents, and learn more about the steps to resilience. Business and community leaders can have an important role in paving the path to the new normal, and supporting resilience in oneself and their team can support adapting and success for their businesses and organizations.
Topic: Steps to Resiliency on the Path to the Next Normal- Business and community leaders can pave the way
Speaker: Susan Peixotto - Integrated Primary Care Clinician at Tri-County Mental Health Services
As an LCSW with over 15 years’ experience as an EMT including service as an EMS Captain, Susie is drawn to opportunities to provide emotional support and counseling to people in health care: patients, providers, and first responders. Her approaches are multifaceted and guided by ACT, mindfulness and trauma training and her core beliefs in individuals’ strengths, and in their capacities for growth, resilience and wellbeing. She has worked with patients and providers in an inter-professional Integrated Primary Care setting. Additionally, volunteering as a member of the Tri-County EMS Critical Incident Stress Management Team has deepened the perspectives that she brings to people experiencing both past and current trauma. These skills and experiences have provided her with a solid foundation for her role as a Faculty member and volunteer with the Maine FrontLine WarmLine, a statewide resource newly formed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The MFLWL focus, incorporating the Psychological First Aid model, is to support a broad spectrum of first responder and frontline healthcare providers, caregivers, and their families.
