Introduction to Phlebotomy
Central Maine Community College will offer Introduction to Phlebotomy on Tuesday evenings, 5:00-8:00 p.m., from February 28 through April 25. Through a combination of lecture, lab, and hands-on experience, students will develop the skills needed to work in an entry-level position as a phlebotomist. Coursework includes preparing the puncture site, collecting specimens, adhering to health and safety guidelines, patient relationships, and proper record keeping. Upon course completion, students may qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians' offices and other health care settings.
