HR Thursdays ~ Employee Benefits... Options, Trends and Updates hosted by the LA Metro Chamber
We will talk about the results of our benchmarking survey. This report emphasizes health care benefits, with additional sections on paid time off, retirement, life and disability insurance, and executive perks. It provides a timely baseline for employers wishing to benchmark their health plan costs and practices with other employers. We will also have an open forum where questions can be answered.

Lianna DellaTorre, Vice President, Employee Benefits - Consultant
Lianna is Vice President of Employee Benefits at USI Insurance Services. In her current role, she acts as a crucial extension to her client's advisory teams. She works closely with her account managers and clients in all areas of health and welfare, helping businesses maintain compliance, and effectively communicate benefit plans to their employees all the while controlling costs.
Lianna began her insurance career in 2007 as an enrollment and billing specialist for Anthem of Maine. She managed accounts for over 2,000 firms, both large and medium in scale, oversaw direct client relationships, managed enrollment, and reconciliation of all billing inquiries. Just prior to joining USI Lianna was an independent broker representing many carriers for individual life, disability income and long-term care insurance.
A graduate of the University of Southern Maine, Lianna earned a B.A. in Communications with concentrations in Public Relations and Business. She currently lives in Scarborough, Maine with her husband and two daughters who absolutely light up her life!
Burr Duryee, Senior Vice President, Employee Benefits - Practice Leader Maine & New Hampshire
Burris Senior Vice President of Employee Benefits at USI Insurance Services South Portland, ME office. He brings his clients a specialization in designing strategic benefit plans based on the success he has achieved in implementing cost-effective benefit solutions for both small and large employer across the United States. Burr has implemented with many of Maine's largest employers alternative funding and alternative reimbursement strategies, consumer-driven healthcare plans, Population Health Management, Value-Based Plan Designs, and Pharmacy Benefit Carve-outs. He has a deep understanding of healthcare and employee benefit offerings.
An insurance veteran, Burr began his career working for Alliant Insurance. Over the years he gained expertise in all facets of Employee Benefits and his consulting knowledge spans the full range of for-profit, not-for-profit, public and private sector employers. He spent (15) years at Alliant in a variety of positions, prior to joining USI Insurance Services in 2014. A graduate of Emory University, Burr received a B.A. in Political Science. He is a Certified Global Benefits Manager and has worked with a variety of organizations that have multi-national operations.
HR Thursdays are presented in partnership with the LA Metro Chamber, Central Maine Human Resource Association. Presenters will share best practices with businesses owners, HR staff, and hiring managers in order to create meaningful recruitment, training, and retention strategies. HR Thursdays allow participants, whether employers of one employee or 1500, to gain the information needed to survive the labor shortage while giving tangible, and usable, tools and resources.
