Barbara Lovejoy, SHRM-CP, PHR is currently serving as a Human Resources Business Partner at Central Maine Healthcare where she provides HR service and expertise at all levels of the organization. She has over 20 years of experience in all areas of Human Resources including performance management, leadership development, employee relations, organizational development, compliance, compensation, benefits and employee safety and workers’ compensation. Barbara has served in volunteer leadership roles with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Maine State Council and the Central Maine Human Resource Association (CMHRA). She presently serves a member of the CMHRA board of directors and is the incoming President-Elect.
Mary Kozicki LaFontaine, Regional Director of the Southern CareerCenters, has over 25 years’ experience in the private and public sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a Masters in Adult Education from the University of Southern Maine. In addition, she teaches at USM-LAC, is President of the Central Maine Human Resources Association and the Lewiston Auburn Economic Growth Council and serves on several other civic and business association boards. She recently served on the LA Metro Chamber of Commerce Board including one term as chair, as an Auburn City Councilor for two terms, and the Auburn School Committee.
HR Thursdays are presented in partnership with the LA Metro Chamber, Central Maine Human Resource Association and the Lewiston CareerCenter and offer employers resources and tools to help gain a competitive edge. Presenters will share best practices to businesses owners, HR staff and hiring managers in order to create meaningful recruitment, training, and retention strategies. HR Thursdays allow participants, whether employers of one employee or 1500, gain information needed to survive the labor shortage while giving tangible, and usable, tools and resources.
