HR Thursdays ~ Ask the Expert - HR, Legal & Benefits
This presentation is a roundtable presentation, a legal Expert (Ann Marie Storey, Esq. HR professional (Hope Burnell), a benefits expert (Vicki Ferentz), and a retirement expert (Maureen Comito) will answer all questions submitted during registration and social media. All questions are due in by 6/16/23 and submitted to the presenters by 6/19/23 to programming@cmhra.org.

Anne-Marie L. Storey, Esq. is a partner at the law firm of Rudman Winchell, located in both Bangor and Ellsworth, where she practices in employment law, including general advising of employers, litigation, administrative actions, and workers’ compensation. She is the Chair of the Firm’s Employment Practice
Group and has been recognized by Best Lawyers for five consecutive years in the practice areas of Employment and Workers’ Compensation. Anne-Marie graduated from Middlebury College and Vermont Law School, cum laude, and was a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand. She serves as the President of
the Board of Directors of the Maine Discovery Museum, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bangor YMCA, the Eastern Area Agency on Aging, and The Grand Theatre in Ellsworth. Anne-Marie is a two-time recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award from the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, and can be found every Wednesday delivering food for Meals on Wheels. She is a regular speaker to human resource groups and other entities on employment-related topics.
Vicki focuses on account management for all size groups, including customer service, new program implementation, and carrier relations. With over 30 years of experience, Vicki also oversees our team and special projects. She represents the firm as the Chair of the Governance Committee of United Benefit Advisors (UBA). Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, she worked at Paine Webber and G&'S Commercial Brokers. She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a B.S. in Sociology.
HR Thursdays are presented in partnership with the LA Metro Chamber, Central Maine Human Resource Association, and the Lewiston CareerCenter and offer employers resources and tools to help gain a competitive edge. Presenters will share best practices with businesses owners, HR staff, and hiring managers in order to create meaningful recruitment, training, and retention strategies. HR Thursdays allow participants, whether employers of one employee or 1500, to gain the information needed to survive the labor shortage while giving tangible, and usable, tools and resources.
