HR Thursday ~ Evolving Landscape of Employee Mental Health hosted by the LA Metro Chamber
As mental health awareness has increased, so has the pressure on employers to become more equipped to recognize and respond to employee emotional/mental health needs. Over the last four years the speed of evolution in the employee mental wellness space has dramatically accelerated. This will help employers understand post COVID trends in employees’ needs, expectations, the barriers they face in getting help and what employers can do about it. The intent of this program is to put current mental health information in context for HR professionals and give them actionable criteria to apply to decisions about employee support and benefit programs.
Current presenting issues:
- What are the trends post COVID? How are things still different than before COVID?
- Mental Health Impact of national/global events such as an election year, wars, economic fluctuations and environmental concerns. What to expect over the next 12 months.
- How people seek support today. The service options people expect and request today and how it’s changed over 4 years. How employee mental health services are evolving.
- The most common personal and systemic barriers faced by people that need support.
- How are the expectations different? The blend of services required to engage all working generations.
- Why some employers have 4-6 times higher utilization of emotional/mental health resources than others, and 4 things any organization can do to improve engagement.
- With all of this in mind, what criteria can employers use to ensure they introduce support services/benefits that will do a better job of meeting employees’ needs?
