CPR & Basic Life Support Course
Central Maine Community College is offering the American Heart Association’s “Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.” This four-hour CPR course will be held Thursday, April 13 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. This course is designed to provide a wide variety of professionals with the skills needed to help victims until they can be treated by paramedics or at a hospital. Topics covered will include adult and pediatric CPR; use of the bag-valve mask; airway obstruction; automated external defibrillation (with child AED update); stroke and cardiac arrest; and other special resuscitation situations. The course is open to the public and is intended for physicians, nurses, first responders, medical technicians, or anyone whose work brings them into contact with members of the public. The registration deadline is April 7.
