CompTIA IT Fundamentals/MTA Windows 10 Fundamentals - Cohort #2 (Funded by Alfond Grant Foundation)
CMCC has been awarded funding through the Harold Alfond Foundation Grant. Funding will support training that combines learning in the technical areas covered by the two IT certifications with real-world exercises and deliverables for job seekers.
ITF+ is the only pre-career certification that helps students or career changers determine if they have a competency for information technology and if it is the right career path for them. It covers all areas of IT foundations, creating a broader understanding of IT making it ideal for non-technical professionals. ITF+ establishes an IT education framework for students in middle school and high school.
With the upcoming end-of-life of Windows 7, now is a good time to gain technical knowledge needed to support Windows 10 from the rollout through maintenance stages to prepare for the large numbers of Windows 7-8 computers still to be updated or replaced. This class is suitable for students wanting a look under the hood into many aspects of Windows 10, including configuring, installation and upgrading, managing applications, files, folders, and devices, operating system maintenance and features of windows.
Additional study time beyond the class will likely be necessary to ensure passing the appropriate certification exams. The certification tests can be completed at the CMCC Testing Center. Upon successful completion of these certification exams, students may receive prior learning assessment credit.
