Comedy Night at The Franco
Thursday, July 1st, join some of the best comedy around! Featuring: Dawn Hartill Dawn Hartill is stand-up comedian from Lewiston, Maine and is a mom to three boys. When she isn’t shopping at Shaw’s, she delights audiences of all ages by sharing her observations on life, marriage, and the experiences of trying to excel at motherhood . . . Or at least trying to keep her children from needing extensive therapy. She is the 2016 Winner of The Strand Cup Comedy Competition and regularly performs throughout New England. She has appeared at Improv Boston, Comix at Mohegan Sun, The Ithaca Comedy Festival and The International Lady Laughs Comedy Festival. Julie Poulin Julie Poulin is an actress, improv performer and stand-up comic from Monmouth, Maine. She is the 2019 winner of the Franco Center’s Central Maine’s Funniest Comedian Competition. Mark Turcotte Mark Turcotte is a married father of two and lifelong New Englander. Most of his material is mined from his family life, an adultlike curiosity, and a series of misfortunes. He’s the founder of Maine Event Comedy and was a finalist in the Funniest Comic on the East Coast Contest at Mohegan Sun and a semi-finalist at the World Series of Comedy in Sarasota, Florida. He was also part of the Gotham All-Stars Show in New York City and was a recent selection for the Boston, Cleveland, and North Carolina comedy festivals. Mark once facilitated a marriage proposal during a 2015 show in Biddeford, Maine…the couple is still married. Johnny Ater Life-long local and arguably Maine’s funniest, down-home comedian, Johnny Ater offers up hilarious and honest stories about life, family, relationships, work, and his colorful local friends, which he brings to life on stage for all to meet. Ater is not a bitter, self-hating comic, he’s vulnerable and embraces his uncool persona, which makes you embrace your own at the same time, winning over every audience, through communal fear of our collective and eminent nerdiness. THAT will make you laugh, BUT it’s his rubber face that you’ll be talking about for days after seeing his performance. Johnny has the ability contort his face in ways that will make you hysterical. He’s your goofy brother, your dorky Dad, your silly Grandpa, but after a show with him, he’ll just feel like “Johnny, your funny best friend!” With tickets at only $10, a full bar, and casual atmosphere, Comedy at the Franco is a perfect date night, or night out with your friends!
