Writing a business plan can be intimidating, and many entrepreneurs don't know where to begin. This workshop will provide an overview of why you need one, give you an overview of the elements of a good plan, and provide tips on writing.
Presenter ~ Lori Allen, Business Advisor
Lori is a native of the Oxford Hills region and is passionate about building strong communities through entrepreneurship. She has over 15 years of experience in economic and business development, working with organizations such as EnterpriseMaine/Growth Council of Oxford Hills and the Maine Development Foundation. Most recently she served as the Director of the Central Massachusetts Women’s Business Center at the Center for Women & Enterprise. Lori holds a BA from the University of Hartford and an MPA from the University of Memphis. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the great state of Maine with her husband and their 3-year old daughter.
The Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments (AVCOG) offers a variety of services and programs targeted to residents and businesses of participating towns, townships, and municipalities in the tri-county area. These services include transportation, regional tourism promotion, and a variety of resources for existing and aspiring small businesses. One of these resources is hosting two full-time Small Business Advisors through the Small Business Development Center program (SBDC), who provides no cost, confidential business advising to Maine’s entrepreneurs and small businesses. Maine SBDC business advisors are cross-trained to help you as you navigate the challenges your business faces.
