Boiler Operator Course
The Center for Workforce & Professional Development at Central Maine Community College (CMCC) will offer a High Pressure Boiler Operator course on Mondays, September 11 through December 4, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The course provides participants with the knowledge and techniques to operate a steam generating plant in a safe and efficient manner. Basics of boiler design and control are emphasized as well as the importance of feed water treatment. Topics include day-to-day operations, steam turbine control and power generation, and environmental control parameters to meet emission requirements. The course offers a practical approach to power plant operation and is designed to prepare the student for the state of Maine high pressure boiler operator licensing exam.
