Join us for June's breakfast, where Mayor Levesque will present an action plan to better align regional public high schools with the University of Maine and Community College systems to help meet workforce needs. He will also discuss ongoing successes with Auburn to strengthen housing options, remove barriers for entry and create a more sustainable housing base that is attainable for all.
The Chamber will also welcome recipients of the High School and Adult Scholarship Awards.
Presenter: Mayor Jason Levesque
First elected in 2017, then re-elected in 2019 and 2021, Mayor Jason J. Levesque is a fifth-generation Auburn resident and a 1992 graduate of Edward Little High School. After attending college at West Virginia Wesleyan and concluding an eight-year tour in the US Army, Mayor Levesque realized that there was no place he would rather start a company and raise a family than in Auburn, Maine.
Since its founding in 2003, his business - Argo Contact Centers - has become one of the largest employers in the region and made the INC. list of fasting-growing companies in America for three consecutive years. In 2015, Argo was recognized as the fastest-growing company in the State of Maine and was the recipient of the L-A Metro Chamber of Commerce "Business of the year" award.
Jason has been featured in national news stories on diverse topics such as business growth, marketing, politics and advocacy efforts at the state and federal level. Most recently he has been the subject of national and state discussions concerning the significant rezoning effort that he has championed, and the positive outcomes such efforts have and will continue to produce.
As a member of Auburn's School committee in addition to his duties as Mayor and his background in workforce development and economic growth, Mayor Levesque is excited to combine experience with execution so that our youth and businesses can fulfill both of their potential.
As Auburn's Mayor, Jason realizes not only what a great city Auburn is, but also its great potential. Through the power and knowledge of its citizens and businesses, and its proximity to Southern Maine, the rocky coast and the western Mountains, Auburn is poised for even greater growth in the years to come.
