SUMMARY:10 week photography class
DESCRIPTION:Maine In Focus - Express Yourself\, Tell A Story. We will approach photography both as a craft and a form of communication - learning techniques\, studying successful photographers\, participating in group critiques\, and taking lots of pictures. After ten weeks students will have created\, or updated their own portfolio and submitted work to a group exhibit. The syllabus will include fundamentals of composition\, understanding the nature of light\, how to use your camera\, how to approach your subject\, fundamentals of editing + critique\, story development and project workflow\, photography as a visual communication\, and understanding the differences between journalism and corporate communication. Classes will meet at LA Arts in Lewiston\, Maine every Tuesday at 5:30pm from September 14th through November 16th and taught by Michael Kleinfeld\, whose work can be seen at michaelkleinfeld.com. Students provide their own camera\, which can include phones\, DSLRs\, etc. Students also need to have a computer or device to download/tone/transmit photographs.
